Chuck Stall
Chuck Stall is the Co-Owner and Head Instructor of Phoenix Grappling Academy, bringing a lifetime of grappling experience as both a competitor and coach. A former standout wrestler at Brother Martin High School, Chuck was part of four Louisiana State Championship teams and finished his high school career with a 96–22 record. Competing at heavyweight, he was a two-time Louisiana State Runner-Up and a two-time Louisiana Classic Champion, establishing himself as one of the top wrestlers in the state during his competitive career.
After graduating, Chuck transitioned his passion for wrestling into coaching and has spent thirteen years developing wrestlers at the high school level, with coaching stops at Archbishop Rummel, Archbishop Shaw, Brother Martin, Holy Cross, and, most recently, Patrick Taylor Science/Tech, where he served as Head Coach for three years and initiated the program. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped guide numerous athletes to success at the highest level of Louisiana wrestling, including multiple state champions.
In 2013, Chuck began his BJJ career at Elite MMA in Houston, TX, before moving back home to New Orleans, where he joined Mid City MMA and earned all 5 of his belt promotions under Shawn Gayton. He served as a competitor, coach, and instructor as well.
In 2018, Chuck earned his Master's Degree in Coaching Education from Ohio University. He is aware of the latest best practices for kids and adults, and applies the appropriate teaching method to each student. He is USA Wrestling Bronze certified and Safesport certified.
He looks forward to the creation and growth of Phoenix Grappling Academy with his wife and business partner, Shana.
